By David Ferrara Las Vegas Review-Journal February 7, 2019 Federal prosecutors filed opening briefs Wednesday in their appeal of a judge’s dismissal of felony conspiracy and weapons charges against Bunkerville rancher Cliven Bundy and others. A year ago, U.S. District Judge Gloria Navarro threw out the case against Bundy, his sons Ammon and Ryan, and independent militia member Ryan Payne after finding “flagrant prosecutorial misconduct.” Assistant U.S. Attorney Elizabeth White asked the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to reverse Navarro’s decision, defending the Justice Department’s actions at trial. By Valerie Richardson The Washington Times February 6, 2019 The Justice Department filed an appeal Tuesday of its devastating defeat against Cliven Bundy in the Nevada standoff, disputing the federal judge’s decision last year to throw out the case based on prosecutorial wrongdoing. The 88-page motion, filed with the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, challenged Chief U.S. District Court Judge Gloria Navarro’s blistering finding of “flagrant” misconduct, which prompted her to declare a mistrial in December 2017 and dismiss the charges a month later. France fires nuclear-capable missile in a rare show as Russia and the US feud over arms treaty By Alex Lockie Business Insider February 5, 2019 France, one of Europe’s two nuclear powers, said on Tuesday that it had fired a nuclear-capable missile from a fighter jet, while the US and Russia feud over the death of a nuclear treaty that saw Europe purged of most of its weapons of mass destruction during the hair-triggered days of the Cold War. France tested all phases of a nuclear strike with an 11-hour mission that saw a Rafale fighter jet refuel…
By Larry Klayman, Chairman and General Counsel Freedom Watch February 4, 2019 There is so much misinformation in the media these days, that it is hard for even political pundits and couch potatoes to sift through and even try to understand it all. No more is this true than with regard to Roger Stone, a former political consultant and now host on Infowars who, along with his buddies Paul Manafort, Rick Gates and others long ago founded or played a role in the firm of Black, Manafort, Stone and Kelly. While I do not wish to cast aspersions on…
As West Bank Violence Surges, Israel Is Silent on Attacks by Jews By Isabel Kershner New York Times February 3, 2019 AL MUGHAYIR, West Bank — A gang of a dozen or so armed Jewish settlers descended from a hilltop outpost to the Palestinian village below and opened fire, witnesses said. Israeli soldiers arrived, and instead of stopping the settlers, the witnesses said, they either stood by or clashed with the villagers. In the melee, Hamdy Naasan, 38, a Palestinian father of four, was shot and killed. The killing last Saturday was the latest in a wave of…
From Celebrated to Vilified, House’s Muslim Women Absorb Blows Over Israel By Sheryl Gay Stolberg New York Times February 3, 2019 WASHINGTON — Representatives Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Ilhan Omar of Minnesota were hailed as symbols of diversity when they were sworn in last month as the first two Muslim women to serve in Congress, Ms. Tlaib in her mother’s hand-embroidered Palestinian thobe, Ms. Omar in a tradition-shattering hijab. Four weeks later, their uncompromising views on Israel have made them perhaps the most embattled new members of the Democratic House majority. Almost daily, Republicans brashly accuse Ms.…
Eagles expected to pick up Nick Foles’ $20M option NFL.com February 2, 2019 Nick Foles and the Philadelphia Eagles are taking their next step. The Eagles are expected to pick up Foles’ 2019 contract option for $20 million, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Saturday on Super Bowl LIVE. Thereafter, Rapoport added, Foles would likely give Philadelphia $2 million to essentially “buy his freedom,” Rapoport said, and become a free agent. From there, the Eagles would likely put a franchise tag on Foles and look to trade him after. Another possibility is that after Foles pays the $2…

By Alex Pappas Fox News February 1, 2019 The federal judge presiding over the case against former Trump adviser Roger Stone said Friday she is considering imposing a gag order, citing the defendant’s spate of public comments and interviews about his indictment. During a hearing in court Friday, U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson said she has not yet made up her mind on instituting a gag order on the defendant and attorneys in the case, but gave both sides a deadline of Feb. 8 to submit in writing their positions on it.
