It should come as no surprise to anyone that our Congress — both the House and the Senate — has once again proven worthless. Yesterday, the House Oversight and Reform Committee voted to block Rep. Nancy Mace’s effort to issue subpoenas for Ilhan Omar, the radical Somali congresswoman from Minnesota who has long been accused of immigration fraud, tax fraud, campaign finance violations, and marrying her own brother.
This betrayal didn’t come just from Democrats — Republicans joined them. It tells you everything you need to know about the corrupt establishment on Capitol Hill. The few honest leaders, like Nancy Mace, are treated as outcasts while the rest perform political theater on Fox News, raise money, and do nothing for the American people.
Adding insult to injury, the Senate just voted — with five Republicans joining Democrats — to invoke the War Powers Act to try to block President Trump’s successful action in Venezuela. This same Congress that can’t fix the border, balance a budget, or hold anyone accountable now wants to undermine the Commander-in-Chief while he brings tyrants to justice abroad.
This is what we’re up against — a corrupt Congress that no longer represents the people. The American people are angry and frustrated, just as they were on January 6th, when millions realized that Washington had completely abandoned them. The legislative branch, once called the people’s house, has become the oligarchs’ clubhouse.
At the same time, our federal judiciary — both leftist and establishment Republican — continues to rule by ideology and political patronage instead of law. Judges are selected through what amounts to legalized bribery, and once confirmed, they repay their political benefactors by twisting justice.
That is why I am working with Rep. Nancy Mace to draft legislation to reform the judiciary and strip federal judges of their so-called “absolute immunity.” We must bring accountability to those who have corrupted our courts and turned them into weapons against conservatives, people of faith, and President Trump himself.
But we cannot rely solely on government to clean itself up. It won’t. That’s why Freedom Watch USA — the people’s independent Justice Department — must step in. We will use citizens’ grand juries, citizens’ trials, and direct legal actions to bring accountability where Congress refuses.
