Leftist leaders in Chicago, Boston, Portland, Seattle, and elsewhere are signaling violence. Lawful Authority to Restore Order
As I explain in the interview, the Insurrection Act of 1807 is legal, has been used 68 times, and has never been outlawed by the Supreme Court. With a presidential proclamation, federal forces can lawfully quell violent unrest. Martial law, where civil authorities fail, is a lawful tool as well. The President is already using the Insurrection Act in Chicago and seeking Supreme Court clarity. If the Left escalates, stronger measures are justified to protect American lives and liberty.
