We must salute President Donald J. Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, and their entire team for their extraordinary actions in bringing Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro into U.S. custody. This is a monumental moment for freedom, and one that carries deep personal meaning for me — because years ago, I brought a lawsuit against Maduro and his predecessor Hugo Chávez for many of the same crimes he now stands accused of in federal court.
That case — filed by Freedom Watch USA — detailed their brutal human rights violations, drug trafficking, and support for terrorism. We were far ahead of our time, exposing the criminality of the Venezuelan regime while most of the world looked away.
Now, as Maduro faces arraignment in New York, I must warn President Trump’s Justice Department: get this case out of New York immediately. The trial has been assigned to a 92-year-old leftist judge appointed by Bill Clinton, and the risk is clear — he could rule that Maduro was “illegally taken” and order him sent back to Venezuela. The case belongs in Miami, where the Venezuelan exile community understands the crimes committed and where a fair trial can take place.
This case could reshape global geopolitics. Venezuela has been the lifeline of Cuba, and its collapse would shake Havana to the core. The Iranian regime, already under mass protest, may also falter as its South American allies fall. Yet this victory could spark pushback from Russia, China, and Iran, who have long bankrolled Venezuela’s dictatorship.
As I explained in my podcast, there is no such thing as “international law” when it comes to the defense of freedom. The United Nations and other globalist bodies have used that term to restrain the United States while empowering tyrants. The only true law is that of God and the American Constitution.
At Freedom Watch USA, we stand side by side with President Trump and his Justice Department, but we can do what they cannot. We act independently of bureaucracy and political compromise. Our mission is to bring tyrants, terrorists, and corrupt officials to justice — in Venezuela, Washington, and beyond.
Please go to FreedomWatchUSA.org and support our ongoing work. Your tax-deductible contributions allow us to hire more lawyers, pursue citizens’ grand juries, and keep fighting the enemies of freedom.
Let’s make 2026 the year we finally defeat corruption and restore justice.
God bless you, God bless America, and God save our Republic.
