The FBI and Justice Department have announced a far-reaching probe that now includes NBA players, coaches, and sports-betting companies, with alleged links into Las Vegas crime families. If true, this confirms what many suspected: corruption has penetrated not just final scores but player-specific prop markets that determine how the public wagers and loses.
I’ve long warned that the FBI avoids seriously investigating federal judges to keep “good terms” for their prosecutions—so when I say major institutions often look the other way, I mean it. Now the same dynamic appears to have infected professional sports. Fans deserve better; so do honest athletes and coaches.
What’s at stake
- Integrity of outcomes: If props and player performance are compromised, the entire market is tainted.
- Consumer protection: Bettors and viewers are victims when the game isn’t clean.
- Institutional accountability: Leagues, owners, betting platforms, and any organized-crime conduits must face real scrutiny.
What Freedom Watch will do next
- File targeted civil actions on behalf of those harmed by manipulated markets and corrupt schemes.
- Use aggressive discovery to map the full network—league offices, teams, owners, betting platforms, facilitators, and any organized-crime links.
- Pursue parallel actions across pro and collegiate sports where evidence leads.
- Press public-interest remedies that force real compliance and transparency—not window dressing.
I am not “anti-sports.” I’ve represented professional athletes and I respect competition. But fans, players, and the public deserve a system that is clean, not compromised by gambling cartels, corrupt insiders, or league indifference. As I’ve done before—whether taking on the PGA Tour’s anticompetitive conduct or challenging other entrenched powers—we’ll bring the hard cases and insist on truth.
Watch what we do. Join our Justice League and support this fight with a tax-deductible contribution at FreedomWatchUSA.org so we can move quickly, file the right cases, and restore integrity to American sports.
