FREEDOM WATCH FILES CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST IRANIAN GOVERNMENT TYRANTS
Complaint Made in Washington, D.C. Federal Court
OVER TEN TRILLION DOLLARS IN DAMAGES DEMANDED
Freedom Watch To Organize "Freedom Rally" This Thursday at 11 am in Beverly Gardens Park
Beverly Hills, California
(Washington, D.C., July 13, 2009). Today, Freedom Watch, the public interest watchdog that takes strong legal action to further freedom, filed a class action lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia in Washington, D.C. The case was randomly assigned to President George W. Bush appointee Judge Rosemary M. Collyer and bears case No.: 09-1289-RMC.
The case was filed on behalf of Akbar Mohammadi, a valiant and brave Iranian freedom fighter who took on the Iranian establishment to bring freedom for his people. As a result, he was imprisoned and then murdered in prison by the Iranian leadership. His sister, also a brave freedom fighter, Nasrin Mohammadi, who lives in Los Angeles, California, where over one million Iranian exiles reside, brought the lawsuit on behalf of not only her brother but all Iranians yearning to be free of this violent and oppressive regime.
This lawsuit is important not only because it represents a direct assault on the Iranian leadership by Iranians in this country and around the world, but also sets an example for President Obama and his administration, and all world leaders, that they need to provide direct assistance to the new Iranian Revolution, not just spew weak, meaningless and ineffective verbal "pronouncements" on its behalf.
"If the Iranian people themselves can stand up legally for their rights, why then can"t the American and other western governments do more to further the end to this despotic regime now that it is "on the ropes"," stated Chairman and General Counsel Larry Klayman. "If the French had not come to the aid of the United States with military and other support during our Revolutionary War, we would not have succeeded in ridding the colonies of the tyranny of King George III. Now it is time for the United States to intervene and help finish off the radical Islamic despots in Iran, as the advanced and culturally rich Persian culture can accept democracy and allow freedom to flourish for the good of Iranians, the Middle East and all mankind. And, the Iranian people are natural allies of the West and Israel, as opposed to radicalized Palestinians and most of the Arab world," added Klayman.
A "FREEDOM RALLY" WILL BE HELD BETWEEN 11:00 A.M. AND 1:00 P.M. THIS THURSDAY, JULY 16, AT BEVERLY GARDENS PARK AT SANTA MONICA AND BEVERLY DRIVE IN BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA
For more information call 310-595-0800 or 310-651-3005. See www.freedomwatchusa.org for the complaint.

With 40 confirmed cases of swine flu in the U.S., an anti-terrorism expert is questioning whether the outbreak is an act of biological warfare.
Freedom Watch, a public interest watchdog, believes that there is a very good possibility that the precipitous outbreak of the virus in Mexico, which has now spread to the United States and other western countries, is not the result of happenstance â"" but terrorism.
The group issued a statement, noting that the U.S. has been expecting a biological or other catastrophic terrorist attack since Sept. 11.
“What could be more clever than planting the seed in neighboring Mexico and allowing it to spread to the United States"” Freedom Watch asked.
The organization speculates that after President Obama’s outreach to Iran and other Middle Eastern leaders, coupled with his denunciation of Bush administration interrogation techniques, his defense of the Muslim world could be seen as an asset to terrorist groups and may explain why the pandemic began in Mexico â"" to protect the president.
“In this dangerous world, with an American president who is widely loved in the Arab/Muslim world â"¦ one must ask the hard question: Is this a coincidence or the result of a slick way to attack the United States without having President Obama, a perceived long term ‘friend,’ blamed for the attack"” Freedom Watch Chairman and General Counsel Larry Klayman said.
He noted that terrorists might believe it makes sense to attack the United States and its western allies without putting the “boogie man” on Obama, who Klayman said appears ready to move quickly toward the creation of a Palestinian state on the West Bank of Israel and has attempted to appease Iran and other hostile Middle Eastern states.
Klayman, author of “Fatal Neglect: The United States’ Failure to Protect American Citizens from Terrorism,” said Freedom Watch has filed FOIA requests today with the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Defense, the National Security Administration and the CIA to learn what the Obama administration has known about the swine flu outbreak and how long it has had the information.
“Previously, under the Bush administration, in the days preceding September 11, the White House apparently knew that an anthrax attack was imminent, since it distributed CIPRO, an antibiotic to staffers,” he added.
| ÿ |
Meanwhile, Obama said today that while the spreading virus is of concern, it is “not a cause for alarm.”
Customs agents only recently began watching people who enter the United States for the virus.
Americans for Legal Immigration PAC condemned the administration’s “passive surveillance” of the virus and failure to immediately secure the borders after 1,600 cases of swine flu infections were confirmed in neighboring Mexico â"" with a death toll that has reportedly reached 169.
“The Obama administration’s failure to secure our borders against a possible pandemic is putting American lives at risk at a time when days and hours matter,” said William Gheen of ALIPAC. “The weak and inadequate ‘passive surveillance’ described during Sunday’s press conference is offensive to the rational mind.”
ALIPAC is calling on the Obama administration to immediately close the southern border to protect Americans from the outbreak and restrict all inbound air and ground traffic from Mexico to emergencies and product delivery.
There have been no confirmed fatalities relating to swine flu in the U.S., but the acting head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Dr. Richard Besser, said Americans should be prepared because the outbreak could worsen and include “possibly deaths.”
But while customs officials say they’ve been checking people for signs of the virus as they enter the U.S., Customs and Border Protection spokesman Lloyd Easterling told the Associated Press that the borders are still open.
He said officials were “just taking a second look at folks who may be displaying a symptom of illness.”
| ÿ |
While CDC officials are inspecting travelers who say they do not feel well, no one is being refused entry.
According to one official, the U.S. government will issue a travel warning tonight advising Americans to avoid all “nonessential” trips to Mexico because of the outbreak, Reuters reported.
The U.S. has declared a national health emergency and shipped 12 million doses of flu medications to states in case they are required.
But ALIPAC is criticizing the Obama administration’s handling of the outbreak â"" saying its failure to act may cost American lives.
“Obama was playing golf Sunday. Instead, he should have been addressing the nation, securing the borders, and filling the gaps in our government leadership from an emergency command center!” said William Gheen. “He refuses to send troops to the border to stop the violence from spilling over or the Mexican flu from crossing into America. Instead we get second-tier bureaucrats telling Americans to wash our hands and cover our mouths when we cough like a bunch of 1st grade students.”
Gheen is urging people to contact their representatives immediately and demand that Congress hold emergency hearings to override the open borders policies of the Obama administration and protect U.S. citizens from the potential pandemic.

Terrorist" Who, me" laughs Hugo Chavez
Faces class action lawsuit over crimes against humanity

A class action lawsuit has been filed against Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez by Larry Klayman, founder of the government watchdog group Freedom Watch, seeking damages for “assault, supporting terrorism, crimes against humanity, violations of civil and human rights, torture” and other crimes.
Chavez, however, was amused when he heard about the claims, according to wasÿ Fox News.
“Lawsuit filed in the United States against Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and all his friend,” Chavez said. The report said he was laughing at the time.
But Klayman, who previously won a nearly $2 million unpaid judgment against Cuban interests in 1996 over the shooting down of an airplane, said he’s serious about the claims and his pursuit of them.
ÿ
“The stage is set for what is shaping up to be the legal battle of the century to be fought in U.S. District Court in Florida before Judge Cecilia Maria Altonaga, the first Cuban-American woman to be appointed as a federal judge in the United States,” Klayman said.
The case was filed on behalf of a class of victims in Venezuela who allegedly were subjected to torture, threats and massive rights violations by the defendants “and their agents, and also acting in concert with, aiding, abetting, facilitating, soliciting, directing, orchestrating and conspiring with the Colombian paramilitary group Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), al-Qaida and the Taliban, and other terrorist groups, nation states and their collaborators in those atrocities.”
The case explains lead plaintiff Ricardo Guanipa is a Venezuelan who was granted political asylum in the U.S. in 2005. He was a radio journalist in Venezuela before being forced to flee for his life, the case said.
“The amount in controversy, both individually and collectively, exceeds $1 billion,” the case claims.
ÿ
Guanipa reported in the case that he witnessed live ammunition fired at anti-Chavez protesters, including women and children, during a peaceful march in Caracas. Many reporters who reported on such cases later were shot, beaten or arrested, the legal complaint claims.
He said FARC, which has been classified by the U.S. State Department as a terrorist organization, has used mines and car bombs in its “guerrilla warfare campaign” against its enemies in the region.
Guanipa said he had evidence in the form of documents, spreadsheets, e-mail texts and other files about the “cooperation between the Venezuelan government, obviously under the direction of the defendants, and the FARC rebel group.”
The evidence, however, was confiscated by the government, the case claims.
Meanwhile, according to United Press International, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs has confirmed President Obama is open to the idea of meeting with Chavez.
Gibbs said Obama probably would welcome a face-to-face meeting with the Venezuelan leader.
Freedom Watch says it is “dedicated to not only preserving freedom, but redefining its meaning, from protecting our rights to privacy, free speech, civil liberties, liberty from foreign oil and crooked business, labor and government officials, protecting our national sovereignty against the incompetent, terrorist state controlled United Nations, and reestablishing the rule of law in what has become a very corrupt American legal system, where justice is only as good as your lawyer and judge â"" most of whom are compromised ethically and otherwise.”
Klayman founded the successful nonprofit group Judicial Watch, then left the organization to pursue a campaign for the U.S. Senate. He later established Freedom Watch.
WND recently reported on a new book about Chavez. In “The Threat Closer to Home: Hugo Chavez and the War Against America,” Douglas E. Schoen and Michael Rowan say the U.S. is oblivious to Chavez’s intentions to use oil as an asymmetric weapon of war, as well as terrorism, in attacks that could rival 9/11 in their impact on the economy and infrastructure of the nation.
Venezuela’s oil reserves are second only to Saudi Arabia’s, they point out, and Chavez has demonstrated a willingness and the ability to manipulate the foreign import market.
“Prior to the summer of 2008, Chavez personally shorted the oil market of 3 million barrels a day,” Schoen and Rowan write. “Leading OPEC (the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries), he had every producing nation but Saudi Arabia following suit.”
They blame Chavez for worsening the economic downturn last year “which may be the worst since the Great Depression.”
“Hugo Chavez is implementing a sophisticated oil war against the United States,” the authors write. “To understand this, you have to look back to 1999, when he asked the Venezuelan Congress for emergency powers and got them, whereupon he consolidated government power to his advantage.”
Chavez took full control of the national oil company, replacing its directors with military and political loyalists.
In addition, through his support of guerrillas in FARC, he has worked to maximize cocaine sales to the U.S. as a means of undermining the cohesiveness of the American culture, critics say.

Geithner, Paulson named in $200 billion lawsuit
AIG-related case claims they violated shareholders constitutional rights
10:45 pm Easternÿ
ÿ
The case, filed earlier by a public interest law firm, Freedom Watch USA, is on behalf of shareholders of AIG who have watched the value of the company plummet by some $214 billion.
The class action lawsuit filed in federal court in Los Angeles is a “wide reaching” claim that will do what Congress cannot, said Freedom Watch USA founder Larry Klayman.
“The American people, not the compompromised ruling elite in Washington, D.C., have begun a second American Revolution to take the country back from the con men on Wall Street, and on Pennsylvania Avenue â"" who under successive administrations played a central role in the meltdown of the U.S. financial system and economy,” Klayman said.
The amended complaint now alleges that the additional defendants violated the constitutional rights of the shareholders by denying them the right to their property, the shares themselves.
“The inspiration for this amendment was information disclosed by University of Missouri professor William K. Black on the Bill Moyers’ PBS television show last Friday, where he implicated these government officials in a massive cover up of the banking scandal, mostly for the benefit of Goldman Sachs, the former employer of both Paulson and Geithner, in which they held a significant financial interest,” Klayman reported.
“As for Cox, his reckless and intentionally impotent oversight at the SEC is the basis for the claim against him,” he said.
Klayman noted that under precedent established by the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. vs. Bivens, the defendants can be named as individuals, as well as officials.
Klayman also decried the apparent attempt by AIG CEO Edward Liddy to avoid being served with the original lawsuit.
On at least three occasions already, he has “run,” telling AIG security not to allow process servers into his office suite, Klayman said.
“This is an absolute disgrace,” said Klayman. “It shows the complete lack of respect AIG and its directors have for the Rule of Law. Liddy can run but he cannot hide. It’s only a matter of time before he and his co-horts, along with Geithner, Paulson and Cox, will be held accountable by the American people, not compromised politicians in Washington, D.C., like Barney Frank Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, who yesterday refused to answer a legitimate question from a Harvard student who inquired why he and his committee failed to oversee the banking scandal.”
The complaint alleges the defendants “jointly and severally, have seriously undermined and damaged AIG’s financial health and valuable past reputation by systematically causing and/or permitting the company to engage in a litany of highly risky, detrimental and reckless business dealings â"¦. that have caused the company to verge on bankruptcy and which have required in excess of $190 billion dollars to date of government provided monies to prevent total company failure.”
The action seeks judgments against defendants “for the amount of damages sustained by the shareholders as a result of the defendants’ breaches of fiduciary duties, gross mismanagement and waste of corporate assets, causing a descrease in shareholders equity in an amount in excess of $200 billion dollars.”
“Freedom Watch will not rest until justice is done and it won’t come from the Obama administration, bent on deceiving the U.S. taxpayer that it intends to clean up this corruption, all the while lining the pockets of its friends at AIG with government bailout money, who gave handsomely to have the president elected,” said Klayman.
The lawsuit alleges the defendants, also including Richard Holbrooke and Martin Feldstein of the Obama administration, have caused the company’s value in 1990 to drop from “approximately $217 billion dollars” to today’s estimated $3.5 billion, “a net decline of $214.5 billion based on the market capitalization rate formula.”
AIG used “financially unsound” credit default swap derivative contracts and collateralized debt obligations to expose the company to “enormous risk,” the suit says.
“After AIG posted a record breaking $62 billion dollar loss for the 4th quarter of 2008, the defendants, each and every one of them, incredibly paid out $165 million dollars in bonuses to its executives in March of 2009 and $55 million dollars in December of 2008 for this poor performance, and also paid out dividends when this was not reasonable or warranted under the circumstances,” Klayman’s case alleges.
Klayman said 400 workers each received between $1,000 and $6.5 million, and seven executives in the unit responsible for many of the losses each got more than $3 million.
“The bonuses were allegedly for retention, in part, and also performance based, but it has become clear that this was not the reason for the bonuses; rather looting of shareholder and government assets was the motivation,” the case alleges.
It continues, “During this time of unprecedented wealth destruction for AIG shareholders, each of the defendants were compensated generously by way of handsome salaries and exorbitant bonuses and dividends, among other benefits and perks, despite their misconduct.”
WND recently reported a poll indicated three in four Americans want members of Congress to return money they got from AIG for their political campaigns.
The poll from The O’Leary Report by Brad O’Leary and Zogby International showed 73 percent of Americans think politicians, including President Obama and Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., should not have profited from AIG and should return the money.
Obama and Dodd were the top recipients of campaign largesse from AIG over the past two years, with Obama getting $104,332 and Dodd taking in $103,900. Others received money, too, but in smaller amounts. All together, AIG donated $644,218 to federal politicians.
According to the Washington Post, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke recently confirmed that he had wanted to sue AIG to stop the company from paying out about $165 million in bonuses, but Fed lawyers advised against the litigation.
AIG CEO Edward Liddy told Congress last week that the Fed signed off on the bonuses before they became public. The company also has said some of the employees have promised to return the bonuses voluntarily.
ÿ

AIG targeted by shareholder lawsuit
AIG, which has been heavily criticized for the bonuses, has contended that it was legally obligated to pay because its compensation program was put in place before the company was given access to $70 billion in direct federal bailout money and much more in loans.
The suit, among the first to hit the once-dominant insurance giant, puts together a detailed timetable for AIG’s financial meltdown and outlines the company’s compensation system, set against the backdrop of two criminal investigations that were being conducted into the company’s practices over the last eight years.
The suit names AIG Chief Executive Edward M. Liddy, retirement services Chief Jay Wintrob and Director Stephen Bollenbach, among others, alleging that they helped put together the bonus scheme that breached the company’s fiduciary duty to shareholders.
AIG corporate spokesman Joseph Norton said Wednesday that the company had no comment on the lawsuit.
Cotchett said that AIG’s payment of massive executive bonuses was part of a pattern of misconduct.
The company had reaped enormous sums for bonuses in recent years. For example, its financial products division, which was trading in exotic financial instruments, had created paper profits that fueled an extraordinary compensation pool of $3.6 billion over a seven-year period for the unit’s personnel, an average of $1 million per employee, the suit said.
Although AIG has not disclosed exactly how much in bonus payments it made in 2008 and 2009, the suit says the company approved $1 billion in bonus payments, including $400 million to the financial products unit.
The complaint alleges that Wintrob, who is based in Los Angeles, was one of the six top-paid executives in 2007, with a total compensation of $7.6 million. In late 2008, AIG intended to pay Wintrob a $3-million retention payment. He was one of 130 executives selected for such payments.
AIG is under investigation by the Treasury Department’s inspector general, Eric Thorson, and special inspector general, Neil Barofsky; New York Atty. Gen. Andrew Cuomo; and others.
The 104-page civil complaint alleges that AIG had become involved in at least two controversial financial transactions starting in about 2002 that contributed to the company’s slide into insolvency and the massive federal bailout that was set in motion lastfall.
The first matter involved transactions that AIG began with PNC Financial Services, which came under criminal investigation by the Justice Department, as well as New York authorities. The company had to disgorge profits and paid an $80-million civil penalty to settle the matter, the suit said.
The suit also cites a deal between AIG and insurer General Re Corp., which resulted in AIG having to restate its earnings covering five years and reduced shareholder equity by $2.7 billion.
“AIG five years ago was doing these phony financial transactions,” Cotchett said. “We gave them $175 billion without anybody looking at the history of this company.”
Last week, Los Angeles-based Freedom Watch, led by conservative gadfly Larry Klayman, filed a class-action suit on behalf of AIG shareholders to force the directors of the company to pay back millions in bonuses and dividends.
The directors include prominent business and political figures, including Martin Feldstein, who serves on an Obama administration task force on taxes, and Richard Holbrooke, the special U.S. envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Larry Klayman of Freedom Watchÿ told WND Clinton should not be allowed “to skate out of the lawsuit which landed her in trouble during her husband’s former presidency.”
“Filegate” developed when President Clinton and Hillary Clinton were accused of violating the privacy rights of their perceived political enemies by wrongly accessing and misusing the FBI files of Reagan and first Bushÿ administrationÿ staffers, among others.
“In an effort to discredit the women who charged President Clinton with sexual misconduct, personal files and papers were illegally obtained and released. The courts found, under the Privacy Act
, that privacy of Linda Tripp and Kathleen Willey had been violated,” a report from Judicial Watch, which originally was involved in the case, said, citing just a few of the more than 900 files involved.
“As the country may remember, one of the Clintons’ techniques at keeping adversaries at bay was to illegally gather confidential and classified FBI files to use against these persons if they ever challenged the Clintons’ behavior in the White House,” Klayman wrote.
“Caught with their hands in the proverbial ‘cookie jar’ when the House Government Reform Committee was investigating Travelgate, another one of the Clinton capers to hire their friends for the White House travel office â"¦ I filed a class action lawsuit in D.C. federal court against Mrs. Clinton, the FBI and others to address this violation of privacy,” he wrote.
In response to Hillary Clinton’s request that she be granted a summary judgment in the long-running case, Klayman responded with a request for her to be deposed on the issues at hand.
A WND request submitted to Clinton’s State Department press office for comment on the case did not generate a response.
Klayman’s request went to Judge Royce Lamberth, who has presided over the case since the 1990s. The jusgeÿ did not return a message left by WND seeking an explanation on the extended delays in the case.
“Now, as the globe trotting Secretary of State under the Obama regime, she wants out of the Filegate case, but Freedom Watch challenged Judge Lamberth to finally do his duty under the Rule of Lawÿ and allow the video deposition of Hillary Clinton to go forward,” Klayman wrote. “No defendant can be removed from a case without having to give testimony.
“We are confident that Judge Lamberth will now have to finally order the deposition,” Klayman said.
Klayman, representing Joseph Cate, wrote in his court filing that Clinton, “along with President Obama himself â"¦ has been elevated by the mainstream media.”
“But this court, which after all is a court of law, cannot and should not be swayed by politics or its latent ‘correctness’ and finally has a job to do under the Rule of Law. As it has correctly pointed out on the record a number of times, the findings of what plaintiff views as a compromised OIC, which were in the context of criminal proceedings, have no bearingÿ on the allegations in this case under the Privacy Act and related common law torts, which are civil in nature and where a much lower standard of proof â"" a preponderance of the evidence â"" and different legal criteria apply,” Klayman submitted to the court.
“Over the last 12 years, plaintiff and his counsel repeatedly asked the court, even though no such request should have been needed, for leave to depose the key defendant in the case, Mrs. Clinton, even though as First Lady initially, she had no standing as a government official, as this court has ruled,” he said.
“It is time for this court to exercise this courage, as the court cannot even consider any motion for summary judgment by Mrs. Clinton until she submits to deposition, where her demeanor can be assessed on videotape, and where she will have to give answers uncoached by her esteemed counsel,” he wrote.
“Accordingly, Mrs. Clinton’s motion for summary judgment cannot and should not proceed pursuant to Rule 56 (f) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure as the motion is premature before she is finally deposed. The time has finally come for her to accountÿ in this civil case. She is ‘Citizen Clinton,’ not ‘Queen Hillary.’ To rule otherwise, would be to establish the principle that Mrs. Clinton is above the law,” Klayman said

HILLARY CLINTON TO BE DEPOSED IN FILEGATE CASE
AFTER TWELVE YEARS FREEDOM WATCH ASKS COURT TO FINALLY ACT
â""Rehabilitatedâ" Consigliere of the Clinton White House Still Must Account for 900 FBI Files
(Washington, D.C., March 31, 2009). Freedom Watch, the public interest watchdog founded by Larry Klayman after his 2004 U.S. Senate run, and the protector of civil liberties and freedom, has again asked Judge Royce Lamberth to permit the deposition of Hillary Clinton to go forward, particularly since Mrs. Clinton wants, as usual, to skate out of the lawsuit which landed her in trouble during her husbandâ""s former presidency.
As the country may remember, one of the Clintonsâ"" techniques at keeping adversaries at bay, was to illegally gather confidential and classified FBI files to use against these persons if they ever challenged the Clintonsâ"" behavior in the White House. Caught with their hands in the proverbial â""cookie jarâ" when the House Government Reform Committee was investigating Travelgate, another one of the Clinton capers to hire their friends for the White House travel office (with likely kickbacks to them involved), I filed a class action lawsuit in D.C. federal court against Mrs. Clinton, the FBI and others to address this violation of privacy.
The case moved quickly in the 1990â""s, but Judge Lamberth seems to have lost interest when George W. Bush was elected in 2000 and the case has now has been around for over 12 years.
Judge Lamberth, a fine jurist, is, like many federal judges, subjectively influenced by events in Washington, D.C. Mrs. Clinton, thanks to the dismal if not catastrophic performance of â""Wâ" and Cheney, has been politically rehabilitated and is now worshipped as a â""Goddessâ" of womanhood and political strength. As a result, now, as the globe trotting Secretary of State under the Obama regime, she wants out of the Filegate case, but Freedom Watch challenged Judge Lamberth to finally do his duty under the Rule of Law and allow the video deposition of Hillary Clinton to go forward. No defendant can be removed from a case without having to give testimony. Even Bill Clinton, while president, was ordered by the U.S. Supreme Court to be deposed. And, Mrs. Clinton is no queen, but instead â""citizen Clinton.â"
â""We are confident that Judge Lamberth will now have to finally order the deposition. Mrs. Clinton is not above the law, no matter how much she and her henchmen, who many attributed to some deaths of key witnesses during the Clinton administrationâ""s scandalous years in the White House, may intimidate this great jurist. Justice must be finally done,â" stated Larry Klayman, Chairman of Freedom Watch.ÿ

Lawsuit filed against AIG by disgruntled shareholders seeks return of bonuses, other perks
LOS ANGELES (AP) â"" A lawsuit filed on behalf of shareholders of American International Group Inc.. is demanding company executives return millions of dollars in bonuses, dividends and other perks.
The lawsuit, which seeks class-action status, also seeks unspecified damages as well as the removal of AIG’s top brass. It claims shareholders have lost $200 billion because of AIG’s gross mismanagement and corporate waste over the past 8ÿ½ years.
Freedom Watch, a nonprofit organization that advocates for ethics in government, filed the . lawsuit Thursday in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles.
Among the defendants named in the suit are former Chief Executive Officers Maurice Greenberg, Martin Sullivan and Robert Willumstad, as well as current CEO Edward Liddy.
AIG spokesman Joe Norton said Friday the company had no immediate comment.
The defendants “have seriously undermined and damaged AIG’s financial health and valuable past reputation by systematically causing and/or permitting the company to engage in a litany of highly risky, detrimental and reckless business dealings,” the lawsuit states.
The company also gave misleading and false assessments when it reported earnings in 2006 and 2007, according to the lawsuit.
Continuing to pay a dividend and even raising it at one point in mid-2007 shows the defendants were either trying to misrepresent the financial stability of the company or derelict in their management and oversight, the lawsuit states.
The filing follows the recent revelation that AIG employees got $165 million in bonuses after AIG received $182.5 billion in government aid.
The bonuses were given to employees of the financial products division, a global unit that issued derivatives called credit default swaps, which drove AIG almost to collapse last year.
The government intervened to provide support for AIG because of fears that a collapse of New York-based company would trigger hundreds of billions of dollars in losses at financial institutions worldwide, further crippling the already battered credit markets.
Larry Klayman, chairman and general counsel of Freedom Watch, said the problems at AIG have “gotten under the skin of the American people.”
“A lot of information has come to light,” Klayman said. “It’s an issue the American people want dealt with right now.”

AIG DIRECTORS SUED TO FORCE IMMEDIATE RETURN OF TOTALÿ BONUSES
Defendants Include Richard Holbrooke and Martin Feldstein of Obama Administration
Class Action Suit Prays for All Damages As Well to Shareholders and Company
ÿ
(Los Angeles, Ca., March 26, 2009). Today, Freedom Watch announced the filing of a class action lawsuit by shareholders of AIG to force the directors of the company to themselves pay back the millions in illicit bonuses, dividends and other perks they paid out to themselves and other officials who destroyed the companyâ""s financial standing.
The lawsuit, filed in the federal court in Los Angeles, is wide reaching and will accomplish what Congress cannot, given the patent illegality of its taxing scheme, which violates the U.S. Constitution as it would tax ex post facto and discriminately.
Larry Klayman, the Chairman and General Counsel of Freedom Watch, who represents the shareholders in their class action suit, issued this statement:
ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ â""Today, the American people, not the compromised ruling elite in Washington, D.C., have begun a second American Revolution to take the country back from the con men on Wall Street, and on Pennsylvania Avenue â"" who under successive administrations played a central role in the meltdown of the U.S. financial system and economy. Freedom Watch will not rest until justice is done and it wonâ""t come from the Obama administration, bent on deceiving the U.S. taxpayer that it intends to clean up this corruption, all the while lining the pockets of its friends at AIG with government bailout money, who gave handsomely to have the President elected.â"
The lawsuit also seeks to recover, from the directors, the losses of the shareholders of the last many months and years, as well as to make AIG whole under new leadership, without the use of government money.

Mr. Blumenthal says the documents show that 73 people received at least $1 million apiece, and five of those received bonuses of more than $4 million.
The office received the documents late Friday after issuing a subpoena.

FREEDOM WATCH DECLARES CONGRESSâ"" AIG TAX A SHAM
Illegal Use of Tax Power to Recoup Outrageous Bonuses
Freedom Watch Shareholder Suit Only Means to Get Justice
ÿ
(Los Angeles, Ca. March 20, 2009). Today, the Chairman of Freedom Watch, the non-profit which promotes and protects individual liberties and fights for government ethics, issued the following statement:
ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ â""Having been caught with their hands in the proverbial â""cookie jar,â""
ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ the congressional elite of Washington, D.C., are attempting to pass
confiscatory punitive taxes on the crooked AIG employees and officers who took large bonuses at shareholder and taxpayer expense. This belated effort to rectify this latest bailout outrage, which has incensed hard working Americans who cannot even makes ends meet for their families, is totally illegal. The only way to recoup the bonuses the crooked directors of AIG to pay for the damage they have done to the company and the nation is for the shareholders themselves to bring a lawsuit against these directors for the damages. Since the Obama regime would rather go on the Tonight Show than take action, the job falls to Freedom Watch to bring suit for these shareholders and the American people. This complaint has been prepared and will be filed and served no later than Monday, March 23, 2009, as shareholders from all over the United States are joining the suit.â"

ÿ
(Los Angeles, California. Thursday, March 19, 2009). Freedom Watch, the non-profit watchdog which promotes and protects individual freedom and government ethics, founded by Larry Klayman, has sent a demand letter to the CEO/Chairman of the Board of AIG, Mr. Edward Liddy, demanding under American securities and related laws, that the Board of Directors and Officers of the company initiate legal action to recoup all of the hundreds of millions of dollars in bonuses paid to the incompetentÿ employees who drove the company into the ground, now at not only shareholder but U.S. government expense.
Asÿ Freedom Watch does not expect a positive response by the deadline of 10 a.m. today, â""we will file suit later today in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California,â" stated Larry Klayman, Chairman and Generalÿ Counsel.
â""It is clear that the government oversight apparatus, run by the likes ofÿ the compromisedÿ Barney Frank in Congress and the hapless Timothy Geithner, Secretary of the Treasury, is not up to the task and is simply playing â""patty cakesâ"" with the American people. As a result, the American people must take action on their own, as the â""new American nobilityâ"", comprised of the likes of AIG, thinks it is above the law and can spend and waste shareholder and taxpayer money at will. Clearly, AIG feels it is open season on the use of government money, given the flow of cash first by the Bush administration and now the Obama administration â"" two of the biggest, most irresponsible spenders in American history. Freedom Watch must stand in their way!,â" Klayman added.

LARRY KLAYMAN’S FREEDOM WATCH FILES AMENDED COMPLAINT TO FORCE DISCOLSURE OF BUSH/OBAMA BAILOUT POLICIES: REPUBLICANS’ & DEMOCRATS’ POLICIES RIPE FOR CRONYISM AND CORRUPTION
ÿ
Freedom Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption to promote and protect freedom, is filing an amended complaint against the Federal Reserve and the Department of the Treasury regarding the $700 billion dollar bailout of this country’s prodigal corporate deadbeats, under the pretenses of the so-called “Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008″. Freedom Watch filed a FOIA request in December and again in February with these two agencies in order to obtain information relating to the bailout, specifically, who is deciding which companies should receive funds; how are the decisions being made; what documents are being submitted by these companies to justify assistance of them; and what are the names of all the companies receiving funds"
These are some basic questions to which Freedom Watch, on behalf of the American people, demands answers. The Bush Administration used fear-mongering and scare tactics to cow the public into listless obedience as they pushed through a bill in a matter of weeks that amounted to nothing more than subsidizing failure and rewarding rich Wall Street executives for making losing bets on an epic scale. Once the floodgates were opened up by Treasury Chairman Hank Paulson (Bush Administration), they have continued unabated under Tim Geithner (Obama Administration). It is helpful to look at these two individuals, Paulson and Geithner, to see what roles they played in this crisis, because this can offer insight into their subsequent actions.
Paulson was the CEO of Wall Street titan Goldman Sachs from 1998 to 2006, during which time he fostered a very special relationship with the Chinese government elite, visiting the country 70 times and no doubt encouraging them to invest in America through equity and debt ownership. During his tenure at Goldman and later as Treasury Chairman, he is best remembered for pushing for lower capital requirements for banks and less oversight, instead asserting in 2007 that, “An open, competitive, and liberalized financial market can effectively allocate scarce resources in a manner that promotes stability and prosperity far better than governmental intervention.” One can only wonder if he still holds this same view in light of the economic disaster that has since befallen our country.
Tim Geithner has been involved in international trade and finance his entire life, his first notable experience being with Kissinger and Associates and then later in 1998 as Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs where he served under then Treasury Secretary and close personal mentor Robert Rubin. If you recall, Rubin was an instrumental player along with Alan Greenspan in ensuring that derivatives markets remained free from government regulation, and he also worked for Goldman Sachs for 26 years before briefly serving as Chairman of Citigroup. Before Geithner’s ÿ appointment by Obama, he headed up the largest of Federal Reserve banks, the New York Fed, beginning in 2003 and was also Vice Chairman of the Federal Open Market Committee, the private committee that dictates and manipulates monetary policy for the entire United States, God-like in its sway over world financial markets.
These two extremely influential and powerful individuals, Timothy Geithner and Henry Paulson, have been notable architects of US policy on regulation and oversight of financial markets, and therefore controlled the fate of all US companies by extension. They essentially created the market conditions that allowed companies to take enormous risks, thereby putting the entire US financial system in jeopardy. Whereas once, they represented financial interests in the private sphere and pushed the government for favorable policies from the outside, they later went on to become a part of that same public sphere, where they could directly set policy that would influence these same private interests they once represented. Once the system that they helped to create began to falter, they used their power as Treasury Secretary to inject hundreds of billions of dollars into these same institutions that they once were a part of.
Freedom Watch Chairman Larry Klayman states, “What we have in this country, is a confluence of the public and private sectors. The individuals at the upper echelons of the corporate world transfer seamlessly into the upper echelons of government and vice-versa. The conflict of interest is enormous, as those who were once lobbying for lax regulation and oversight, are now the ones charged with setting those same policies. Similarly, those companies that are now receiving hundreds of billions of bailout dollars are the same companies that were once headed by top administration officials. This is corrupt, this is shameful, and we, on behalf of the American people, are not going to take it lying down.” ÿ

OBAMA WATCH CENTRAL
White House nightlife under investigation
‘This party atmosphere sends the wrong message’
Posted: March 07, 2009

By Bob Unruh
ÿ©ÿ 2009ÿ WorldNetDaily
An organization that serves as a watchdog on the U.S. government for American taxpayers has launched a campaign to uncover exactly how much tax money is being spent on parties at the Obama White House.
The president has shown a penchant for lavish galas, such as the huge assembly orchestrated in Denver when he accepted his party’s nomination for president â"" an outdoor gathering for some 75,000 featuring a stage with Greek columns. He also held a multimillion-dollar victory celebration in Chicago, and his fancy inauguration cost an estimated $170 million, according to ABC News.
Now, Larry Klayman, founder of Freedom Watch, told WND today he’s seeking information about the partying in the White House since the Obamas moved in.
Freedom Watch is seeking information from the federal government on who had input into bailout legislation and whether they got anything in return.
Klayman said the reports of the partying at the White House, “with the likes of Steve Wonder and other high priced entertainment stars,” will be the focus of document requests being submitted to the General Services Administration. The requests will seek to determine how much taxpayer money is being used.
“Barack and Michelle Obama have been throwing taxpayer funded parties nearly every night with their ‘friends’ and supporters, with Michelle Obama even exhorting them not to ‘break’ White House property,” Klayman’s announcement said.
“This party atmosphere sends the wrong message to the American people. As the Obama-Clinton crowd party on, the American people are suffering greatly,” Klayman said.
“It was right to criticize corporate execs for using taxpayer bailout money on bonuses and corporate junkets. In the face of this criticism, it is an outrage for Barack and Michelle Obama to party on, as Rome burns. It’s like throwing a party at a funeral,” he said.
According to a report by the news and commentary website Politico, many of the parties have been just that â"" parties, not political and government meetings.
“Using one of the worldâ""s most famous private residences as bait, President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama are unleashing a bipartisan charm offensive and exploiting every square inch of their new home to make friends and influence rivals. The social calendar suggests a return to the days of Camelot,” the report said.
“Since moving into their new digs, the first couple has hosted a half-dozen gatherings â"" from bipartisan cocktail receptions to a public open house to the more intimate Super Bowl party … ending many of their days past midnight,” the report said.
“Most recently â"¦ the Obamas opened the White House doors to House caucus leaders from the moderate Blue Dog Democrats and the Congressional Black Caucus. White House aides say the couple hopes to make the Wednesday cocktail parties a tradition.”
The report quoted White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers saying the Obamas want to “replicate the same kind of environment they had in Chicago.”
“If there was a party or an event [in Chicago], they were there,” the report quoted “a friend” saying.
But is anything of government value accomplished"
“You would have felt like a fool talking about politics at this party,” said Eleanor Holmes Norton, D-D.C., said after one major event. “I was surprised how much of a social event it was and how little of a political occasion it was.”
Insiders said in the report that the Obama social schedule is busier than any other previous occupants of the White House.
“We haven’t seen this kind of entertaining in a really long time,” Dee Dee Myers, former White House press secretary to Bill Clinton, said in the report.
According to an ABC report, many of the parties have been on Wednesdays, and the report confirmed one featured a Stevie Wonder concert.
“This is a pretty big house, so we get lonely,” the report said Obama announced. “It’s hard for me to move around out there some times so I got to bring the world to me.” Published reports said the Jonas Brothers were on hand in the White House for a special event for the Obama daughters, Sasha and Malia, on inauguration night.
Dinners have featured lavish menus including “Celery Soup, Wild Mushroom Crisps, Steelhead Salmon with Citrus sauce, Crispy Spinach, Toasted Saffron Couscous Pearls, Baby Iceberg lettuce with Maytag Bleu Cheese and Yogurt ranch dressing and for dessert, Milk Chocolate velvet cake” â"" all served on gold-rimmed china.
Klayman has taken on the establishment in Washington several times, including when the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee interviewed Sen. Hillary Clinton for her appointment by Obama as secretary of state.
The senators, however, ignored the shady parts of her background involving “Chinagate” and “Filegate,” he said.
In the Chinagate scandal, documented on the website for Judicial Watch, which Klayman previously led, technology companies allegedly made donations of millions of dollars to various Democratic Party entities, including President Bill Clinton’s 1996 re-election campaign, in return for permission to sell high-tech secrets to China.
“Filegate” developed when President Clinton and Hillary Clinton were accused of violating the privacy rights of their perceived political enemies by wrongly accessing and misusing the FBI files of staffers in the Reagan and George H.W. Bush administrations, among others.

YOUR GOVERNMENT AT WORK
Corruption hunt targets stimulus
‘Accountability has to start now, the exposure has to happen now’

A nonprofit watchdog on the U.S. government is demanding documents from the federal Office of Management and budget on special interest organizations that helped write the $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program, on TARP.
“We’re looking for corruption,” Larry Klayman, founder of Freedom Watch, told WND today.
And he’s confident he’ll find it.
“Do bears live in the woods"” he asked.
Klayman’s organization announced it has launched “round one” of its investigation with a Freedom of Information Act request with the OBM “seeking information on the non-governmental entities and members of Congress that were involved in the crafting of this latest bailout bill.”
ÿ
| ÿ | ÿ | ÿ | ÿ |
The government has estimated the actual spending under TARP to be about $800 billion.
“For many years, these ’special interest groups’ have bought favor with each successive administration and members of Congress through campaign donations and other gifts, and in return have exacted special favor from the government, by way of lucrative contracts and appointments to powerful positions,” FreedomWatch said.
Klayman said he’s interested in the $350 billion of the original bank bailout money that simply went missing.
Klayman noted that President Obama has pledged to eliminate influence peddling, “and one of his main campaign talking points was distancing himself from the lobbying machine and Washington ‘politics as usual.’
“The information obtained from this FOIA request will be a litmus test, a report card of sorts for the Obama regime, to see if it is as serious as it claims about limiting the influence of Washington lobbyists and special interest groups,” Klayman said.
“It is important that the American people know who is pulling the strings of our government, especially when those are this nation’s purse strings. With budget projections over the next eight years ranging from such substantial sums of money as $3.5 trillion in 2010 to a whopping $4.9 trillion in 2018, the time for transparency is now, in the initial stages while the budget is still being finalized.”
He said the obvious point is that the government cannot be trusted to monitor itself.
“The accountability has to start now, the exposure has to happen now; otherwise we may find ourselves in another Iraq-like economic and political debacle, only this time it may be a financial insurgency without end. Instead of roadside bombs, it will be bank failure and corporate bankruptcy, instead of sectarian violence, it will be the ‘haves’ clashing against the ‘have-nots,’” he said.
Klayman has taken on the establishment in Washington several times, most recently when the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee interviewed Sen. Hillary Clinton for her appointment by Obama as the next secretary of state.

LARRY KLAYMAN’S FREEDOM WATCH SEEKS TO UNCOVER SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS’ INFLUENCE ON OBAMA’S BUDGET
Freedom Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption to promote and protect individual freedom, has begun an investigation of the troubling underpinnings of President Obama’s record busting budget. Today, it began round one of the investigation by filing a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), seeking information on the non-governmental entities and Members of Congress that were involved in the crafting of this latest bailout bill. For many years, these “special interest groups” have bought favor with each successive administrations and Members of Congress through campaign donations and other gifts, and in return have exacted special favor from the government, by way of lucrative contracts and appointments to powerful positions. LARRY KLAYMAN’S FREEDOM WATCH TAKES A HARD LOOK OBAMA’S SPENDING HABITS, FROM INAUGURATION TO REDECORATION
ÿ
Larry Klayman, the founder of Freedom Watch, a public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, today announced that he filed a FOIA request to the General Services Administration, regarding the Obamas’ White House redecorating expenditures. It was recently announced that Obama will spend in excess of $100,000 dollars to redecorate the White House. This is an odd decision for Obama, who has consistently pushed the line that we are in a financial crisis not seen since the Great Depression, and that all Americans have to tighten their belts and make some sacrifices during this unprecedented crisis. It would seem as if he meant “all Americans must sacrifice except he and his family.” After spending an estimated $170 million dollars on his inauguration (George W. Bush by comparison spent $157 million), he is giving the entire $100,000 dollar allotment from Congress to the notoriously expensive decorator, Michael Smith.
In this time of economic hardship for most ordinary Americans, is it really necessary to spend this kind of money on redecorating the White House" In what is already a beautiful house by most standards, and with a secret warehouse at their disposal in Maryland which houses thousands of pieces of furniture from previous first families, Obama is spending taxpayer money on furniture from Ikea, Target, and Kohls, and is cluttering the esteemed living quarters that once housed the likes of Washington and Lincoln with these cheap, imported, foreign-made products. That money must really be burning a hole in his pocket for him to make these kinds of frivolous purchases, a hole that the taxpayers will probably be forced to pay for as well. For many people, $100,000 is the cost of an entire home, for the Obamas, it is merely the cost of redecorating what is already the most revered and coveted of houses in the world.
If Obama really means what he says about making sacrifices, then for the sake of credibility, perhaps he would be best served by setting an example that the rest of the country can emulate. Founder Larry Klayman states, “The last thing this country needs is another leader who tells us one thing and then does another behind closed doors. What this country really needs is a leader who is willing to be straight with the American people and can walk the walk, not just talk the talk.”

LARRY KLAYMAN’S FREEDOM WATCH OPENS INVESTIGATION INTO VICE PRESIDENT BIDENâ""S SONâ""S INVOLVEMENT WITH SCANDALOUS STANFORD FINANCIAL AND PARADIGM GLOBAL ADVISORS

HILLARY CLINTON TRIES TO ESCAPE FROM ON-GOING FILEGATE CASE
Former First Lady Still Implicated In Illegal Use of FBI Files During Clinton Administration
(Washington, D.C., February 18, 2009). Larry Klaymanâ""s Freedom Watch, the watchdog which investigates and prosecutes government corruption and abuse to protect and preserve freedom, has received a motion for summary judgment from Secretary of State, and former First Lady and U.S. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton in the on-going civil lawsuit which seeks to hold her accountable for illegally violating the privacy rights of American citizens she and her husband Bill Clinton viewed as political adversaries during their administration in the 1990s.
The case, first filed in 1996 when it was discovered that the Clinton White House illegally obtained FBI files on adversaries, and used them to smear them, continues to this day. Strangely, although Mrs. Clinton is the principal defendant, and although there is sworn testimony, obtained during earlier discovery that Mrs. Clinton was the mastermind of this illegal scheme, the Court has never granted Plaintiffs requests to depose her â"" perhaps fearing a political backlash in the scandal ridden and â""politically correctâ" ÿ cesspool known as Washington, D.C. But now that Mrs. Clinton has moved to try to get out of the case â"" undoubtedly so it does not hang over her head during her years as Secretary of State â"" it is mandatory that she be deposed before the Court can even consider her motion to be let out of the case. Indeed, even her husband, Bill Clinton, who was president at the time, had to be deposed in the Paula Jones case. Mrs. Clinton, as Secretary of State, ranks lower than a U.S. president and the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in the Jones case that even a president is subject to deposition for his illegal acts.
ÿ
â""Mrs. Clintonâ""s defense team, lead by David Kendall of Williams and Connelly, has made a tactical mistake. It is now clear that Mrs. Clinton will have to answer questions under oath about one of the worst scandals during her years in the White House. She is not above the law! And, while official Washington chooses to forget the corruption of the Clinton years, Republicans in particular having rung up a â""niceâ"" record of their own during the Bush years, it falls on Freedom Watch to get justice,â" stated Klayman.
ÿ
â""Recently, in confirming Mrs. Clinton as Secretary of State, the Senate overlooked Freedom Watchâ""s demand to investigate Mrs. Clintonâ""s sordid, scandal ridden past. Freedom Watch is not so kind, as we represent the American people, not the special interests of the corrupt and incestuous Democrat and Republican parties, who scratch each othersâ"" backs and think they are better than the rest of the American peopleÿ such that they do not have to account for their wrongs,â" addedÿ Klayman.

Conservative group sues for TARP details
Contributed by Walter Alarkon

ÿ
From the Hill newspaper (hill.com)
A conservative legal group is suing the Treasury Department and the Federal Reserve to reveal exactly how the first $350 billion of the financial services bailout was spent.
Larry Klayman and his organization, Freedom Watch, said they’re concerned money from the Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP) was given to investment firms on the basis of the banks’ political influence. The group noted that that jobs have been lost and that stock prices haven’t recovered since the bailout. But Freedom Watch hasn’t provided specific evidence of wrongdoing.
Klayman said he filed a lawsuit because the government hasn’t responded to a request filed in December under the Freedom of Information Act. “What Freedom Watch and our constituents would like to know is where that $350 billion disappeared to and how it was determined who would get what share, so that these individuals and companies can be held accountable and so that that there is some visibility in the system that is supposed to be acting for the American people, not against them,” said Klayman in a statement.
The first $350 billion of TARP was largely spent by the Bush administration to recapitalize ailing banks. Firms that received bailout money have refused to say exactly where they spent the federal funds. Freedom Watch also said it will file a lawsuit to press the Obama administration to detail how it will spend the remaining $350 billion in TARP money.
The Treasury Department hasn’t responded to a message about the lawsuit.
Klayman is best known for founding Judicial Watch, the conservative organization that sued the administrations of former presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush to release records. Klayman left Judicial Watch in 2003 to run for U.S. Senate in Florida.
His new group, Freedom Watch, isn’t connected to the defunct right-leaning Freedom’s Watch, which ran ads against Democratic congressional candidates before last year’s election.

The U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee is interviewing Sen. Hillary Clinton for her appointment by President-elect Barack Obama as the next U.S. Secretary of State but apparently is making a determined effort to prevent any discussion of her “Chinagate” or “Filegate” scandals.
That’s according to Larry Klayman, a top Washington watchdog who years ago founded the Judicial Watch organization to monitorÿ government activities and pursue prosecution of illegal government behavior. Klayman battled the Clinton White House in numerous cases and to this day remains the attorneyÿ of record in at least one pending dispute that accuses Hillary Clinton of involvement in her husband’s apparently illegal release of individuals’ White House files protected by the Privacy Act.
Klayman later left Judicial Watch to stage a U.S. Senate run and now leads FreedomWatchUSA.org.
“The American people deserve to have full knowledge about Senator Clinton’s role in these scandals before the committee votes to confirm her, and I am the most knowledgeable person to testify on these issues,” Klayman wrote in a letter to committee leaders Sens. John Kerry and Richard Lugar.
However, Klayman received no response to his offer to explain the accusations against Sen. Clinton.
“We need to scream right now,” Klayman told WND regarding her nomination for secretary of state. “She was the mastermind behind ‘ChinaGate’ and ‘Filegate.’”
In the Chinagate scandal, documented on the Judicial Watch website, technology companies allegedly made donations of millions of dollars to various Democratic Party entities, including President Bill Clinton’s 1996 re-election campaign, in return for permission to sell high-tech secrets to China.
Bernard Schwartz and his Loral Space & Communication Ltd. later allegedly “helped China to identify the cause of [a rocket failure], thereby advancing China’s missile program and threatening U.S. national security.”
“Filegate” developed President Clinton and Hillary Clinton were accused of violating the privacy rights of their perceived political enemies by wrongly accessing and misusing the FBI files of Reagan and first Bush administration staffers, among others.
“In an effort to discredit the women who charged President Clinton with sexual misconduct, personal files and papers were illegally obtained and released. The courts found, under the Privacy Act, that privacy of Linda Tripp and Kathleen Willey had been violated,” a Judicial Watch report said, citing just a few of the more than 900 files involved.
Judicial Watch said Mrs. Clinton had been linked “directly to the center” of the controversy.
Klayman, concerned that such issues would be overlooked, submitted a request last week to Kerry and Lugar to testify about Hillary Clinton’s candidacy as secretary of state.
“During the 1990s and thereafter, as chairman of Judicial Watch and later as chairman of Freedom Watch, I investigated and filed civil lawsuits against both Bill and Hillary Clinton,” Klayman wrote. “In this regard, I am the only lawyer.”
ever to have obtained a court ruling that former President Bill Clinton committed a crime when he illegally released the Privacy Act protected White House files of Kathleen Willey, a woman he was accused of sexually harassing in the Oval Office.
“The finding was made by the Honorable Royce C. Lamberth in a case styled Alexander vs. FBI et. al, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia,” he wrote. “Importantly, this case, in which Hillary Clinton remains a principal defendant, is still pending to this day. It concerns the illegal obtaining and use of FBI files for political purposes.”
Klayman wrote that he also was counsel of record in the case Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Commerce, in which Hillary Clinton “was implicated in orchestrating the illegal sale of seats on trade missions during the former Clinton administration.”
However, Senate staff members refused to respond to his request. There also was no response to WND messages left with the Foreign Relations Committee seeking comment.
Klayman said the issues certainly are relevant, especially since as secretary of state, Hillary Clinton would have access to a wide range of classified material.
Klayman said his next step will be to file an ethics complaint against committee members for refusing to investigate the background of a nominee for one of the highest appointed positions in the nation.
WND previously has reported other instances of alleged unethical behavior by Hillary Clinton.

The chief Republican counsel for the House Judiciary Committee during the preparation of impeachment articles against President Richard Nixon has verified allegations by Jerry Zeifman, the general counsel for the committee, about Hillary Clinton.
Franklin Polk backed up claims by Zeifman that Clinton was fired from the committee staff for unethical behavior.
Zeifman, a lifelong Democrat, also called Clinton a “liar” and “an unethical, dishonest lawyer.” He reported her legal brief was so fraudulent and ridiculous, she would have been disbarred if she had submitted it to a judge.
Polk cited Clinton’s brief arguing Nixon should not be granted legal counsel due to a lack of precedent. But Clinton deliberately ignored the then-recent case of Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas, who was allowed to have a lawyer during the impeachment attempt against him in 1970.
Other accusations against Hillary Clinton include mysteriously turning a $1,000 in investment in cattle futures into a $100,000 profit and “losing” law-billing records subpoenaed in 1994 that suddenly appeared in 1996 in a room next to her office.
Then there was Travelgate, when the staff of the White House travelÿ office was fired to make way for Clinton cronies.
In today’s hearing, the main controversy under discussion is the apparent conflict of interest the donations from foreign interests to her husband’s foundation would pose to her role as secretary of state.
The foundation reportedly has taken in at least $46 million from Saudi Arabia and other foreign governments, such as Kuwait, Brunei, Oman and Italy.
Kerry, the committee chairman, said he hopes to see Hillary Clinton’s confirmation completed by Thursday.
The American voters, however, haven’t forgotten. In the Deseret News in Utah, readers suggested the following questions for Hillary Clinton:
- “What favors have you doled out to the who’s who of rich international businessmen and leaders who contributed millions to former President Bill Clinton’s foundation.
- As senator, you voted for a use-of-force resolution for Iraq. But when the war went bad and no weapons of mass destruction were found, you claimed the vote never authorized President Bush to go to war. Please tell us how you are competent to serve as top diplomat when you do not understand the wording of important legislation"
- Why did you direct employees to transfer the secret FBI background reports on staffs of Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush and bring them to the White House.
- Why did you fail to disclose $2 million in campaign contributions for your first Senate run relating to an extravagant Hollywoodÿ fundraiser"
- What was your role in the smear campaign launched by your husband’s aides against Gennifer Flowers, Kathleen Willey, Paula Jones and other Bill girlfriends"

KLAYMANâ""S FREEDOM WATCH ATTACKS ARAB AND FOREIGN CONTRIBUTIONSÿ TO BILL CLINTONâ""S PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY
Weak Republicans Too Scared to Investigate Tiesÿ to Terrorist Nations That Should Kill Confirmation of Hillary Clinton as Obama Regimeâ""s Secretary of State
(Washington, D.C.,ÿ December 22, 2008). Larry Klaymanâ""s Freedom Watch is doing the job that the â""opposition partyâ" is too scared to do; aggressively pursue improper Arab and other foreign contributions to former President Bill Clintonâ""s Presidential Library; contributionsÿ which are not only huge but obviously intended to effectively bribe the Obamaâ""s hoped for Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton.
Klayman, who founded Freedom Watch after NBCâ""s hit political drama series fashioned a TV character after him, â""Harry Klaypool of Freedom Watch, is also the founder of Judicial Watch, who for ten years while he ran it, fought the Clintons tooth and nail.ÿ Klayman is the only lawyer to have obtained a finding that President Clinton committed a crime when he released the Privacy Act protected files of Kathleen Willey, a woman he groped in the Oval Office.
While Klayman fights in court to regain control of Judicial Watch, which he left in 2003 to run for the U.S. Senate, but which has been hijacked by an ethically challenged do nothing non-lawyer, Tom Fitton,ÿ he has built a â""Dream Teamâ" at Freedom Watch to restore freedom to our country and fight dishonesty in government, on all sides of the political spectrum.
ÿ
In recent days, it has been revealed that Bill Clinton (and obviously Hillary Clinton) profited from huge contributions from donors in hostile Arab states like Saudi Arabia, Syria, Qatar, Brunei and Oman as well as the U.S. Islamic World Conference, all of whom hate Jews and Christians and have vowed to wipeÿ Israel off the face of the earth â"" the home to Jesus of Nazareth, Moses and Jewish and Christian Holy Places.
All of these countries finance terrorism as a means to keep themselves â"" such as the Saudi Royal family â"" from themselves being victims of Al Quaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah and other hostile Arab groups.
Just as the Republican Party, defeated by itsÿ own corruption and inept rule, prepares, with its impotency, ÿ to look the other way and allow Hillary Clinton to become Secretary of State, Freedomÿ Watch has taken up the mantle of Freedom and instituted an investigation of these Arab and foreign ties. In so doing, today Klaymanâ""s group filed Freedom of Information Act requests with the Clinton Library, which will undoubtedly ripen in lawsuits, to uncover moreÿ information about the Clintons greed and graft.
â""Hillary Clintonâ""s nomination and confirmation as Secretary of States must be legally blocked. (Washington, D.C.). Larry Klayman, the founderÿ of Judicial Watch, the most successfulÿ government watchdog of the 1990sÿ (sinceÿ Klayman left even the Washington Post has called it a lame duck under its ethically challenged presidentÿ Tom Fitton), has sharpened his talons and through his new Dream Team at Freedom Watch is delving deep into the $700 Billion Plus government bailout of the banks, credit card companies, mortgage lenders, auto makers and anyone else who has lined the pockets of Washingtonâ""s corrupt legal establishment. Klayman created Freedom Watch as a complementary vehicle to use as he takes legal action toÿ reclaim Judicial Watch.
In the last few days, Freedom Watch has filed Freedom of Information document requests with the Department of the Treasury,ÿ Federal Reserve Board, and Federal Reserve Bank to uncover how our hard earned taxpayersâ"" monies are being doled out, and to whom. Follow up lawsuits will ensue.
With bribery and corruption runningÿ rampant in both political parties in Washington, D.C.,ÿ its obvious that â""grease,â" not merit,ÿ will likely frequently pay a roll in â""whoâ" gets bailed out. LARRY KLAYMANâ""S FREEDOM WATCH INVESTIGATES OBAMA-ILLINOISÿ ÿ SENATE SCANDAL
Job Cannotÿ Be Left to Politically Compromised Illinois U.S. Attorney
(Washington, D.C. December 17, 2008). Larry Klayman, who as founder and chairman of Judicial Watch obtained a court ruling that Bill Clinton committed a crime when he released the Privacy Act protected files of Kathleen Willey, a woman he harassed in the Oval office, is now the chairman of Freedom Watch, a public interest group that fights for government ethics and freedom.
Freedom Watch, whose “Dream Team” consists of the prior regional directors of Judicial Watch, has entered the fray in the Illinois Gubanatorial scandal over the attempted sale of Barackÿ Obamaâ""s Senate seat for $500,000 to the son of Jesse Jackson, Congressman Jesseÿ Jackson, Jr.
To begin the investigation, Freedom Watch has requested copies of any and all communications between Barack Obama, his campaign and the Illinois Governorâ""s office.
It was a simple FOIA request like this which resulted in Klayman triggering what at the time was perhaps the biggest scandal in American history, the so called Chinagate scandal during the Clinton administration.
â""It is logical that President elect Obama and his staff played a role in the selection of his successor as U.S. Senator in the state of Illinois. It is also logicalÿ that Jesse Jackson, Jr. was a likely choice, in order that the Obama campaign could silence the Congressmanâ""s father during the general election campaign, when Jesse Jackson Sr. viciously attacked Obama on Fox News. There is a high probability of a quid pro quo â"" choose Jackson, Sr.â""s son as the next U.S. Senator from Illinois and Jackson will not try to harm Obamaâ""s campaign for President,â" stated Klayman.
Freedom Watch will take aggressive action to get to the bottom of the scandal, as Klayman didÿ as chairman of Judicial Watch. U.S.Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald, a very political animal who tries to scratch the back of both political parties, cannot be trusted. In the Valerie Plame scandal, he â""burnedâ" aÿ bit player operative, like Scooter Libby, but let the major offenders, who could influence his future career, like Karl Rove and Vice President Dick Cheney, get off scot free. â""Freedom Watch will not rest until everyone who played a role in this outrageous scandal is held accountable,â" added Klayman.
